First 2D character animation using ToonBoom Harmony

This is a little animation project I just did in the course of 2 weekends in order to get into ToonBoom’s awesome 2D animation software “Harmony”. The arms of the “Pentapus” (Octopus with 5 arms ;o) ) and the sea plants are animated using Harmony’s curve (spline) deformers. This is actually my very first character animation ever done and I have been using Harmony for 3 weeks now. One of the best pieces of software I have ever used. Pure fun, rock solid, recommendable.

New microphone ElectroVoice RE320 – new narrator demo

After testing the Brauner Phanthera microphone for a few weeks I came to the conclusion that it is not suitable for me. I wasn’t really satisfied with how it sounded with my voice and it was way too sensitive to ambient sounds etc. So I decided to try the more or less new ElectroVoice RE320 and I must really say I’m totally impressed by this new mic! It sounds beautifully homogeneous with my voice and typical of a dynamic mic it’s not that sensitive to ambient sounds/background noise.

This seamlessly looping piece of music is just ideal for any kind of medieval themed film scene or video game. A memorable lute melody accompanied by some fidule, a flute and percussions like a tambourine. I also applied some special reverb that gives the overall impression of an outdoor capture. There are certain melodic parts in this piece that also gives it a Chinese feel – so it’s actually also very suitable for any ancient Chinese video or game.

Thanks to the relatively new site “Audiojungle Radio” it’s now possible to play all my audiojungle songs and sound effects without Flash. They use an HTML5 based player – so you are able to listen to and buy my songs on devices like iPhone, iPad etc. which wasn’t possible before.
